Over the next few weeks, JonBaier and BruceLindgren will be experimenting with this Wiki and learning how it may best be used to advance EID development. Our aim will be to facilitate collaboration. One of our first tasks will be to establish Site Architecture that will serve the members of CEID. Another important consideration will be to define SiteSecurity; who is authorized to edit pages and what pages are individuals authorized to edit. EditorialPolicy will, at least initially, resemble the style of Wikipedia. There are administrative issues that will need clarification including: How is it possible to change the logo? The head banner currently used is larger than needed and when printed it prints against a black background that wastes ink or toner. What are the requirements for login? Is it possible to have each user / editor required to use a separate username and password? What is the procedure for a new user to establish their own username and password? BL The Authorization system looks pretty functional. There are both individual user accounts and access groups. I think we should also start exploring CollaborationTools and using them to develop this project. JB A different logo will be constructed in a few minutes. Yesterday while looking around the Admin tools I think I found how to make the change. However, I don't remember finding a way to change the background color. I went into the admin tools and changed the profile to include provision for user login and used my email address for the required authorization. As of this writing I have not logged out and logged back in again to see if it is active. There is not rush on this as I have no immediate plans to get anyone else involved. The Collaboration Tools listed hold good potential. Dimdim and Twiddla are two that should definitely be tried sometime soon. BL This link will reach the Helpful Resources page.
